What I Offer
& The Plan for your Success

TMUA preparation, Oxbridge interview coaching, and A-Level support — plus the five-stage programme that takes you from foundations to a top university place.

Why me

Most tutors you'll come across have either just completed a degree at Oxford or Cambridge, or have been teaching for over a decade. Both sound impressive — and for A-Level preparation, they may well be excellent choices. A-Level is structured, predictable, and largely repeatable year to year.

TMUA is a different kind of challenge entirely. It doesn't repeat itself in the same way, and it's not something you can prepare for purely through content knowledge. It requires a particular way of thinking — one that is genuinely difficult to teach without having experienced the test yourself, under real conditions.

Long-established tutors, however skilled, haven't sat the TMUA — it simply wasn't around when they were applying. I have — under exactly the same conditions you'll face — and I scored 8.5. Beyond my own experience, I've spent considerable time studying the patterns behind TMUA performance: why mathematically capable candidates underperform, how errors compound under time pressure, and why some students feel well-prepared only to find the result doesn't reflect it. One of the biggest issues students face is thinking the examiners only want to test mathematical skill. This is not the case. Tricks and traps are developed for the TMUA to assess whether you are willing to put in the time to learn how to manage them. However, many fail to realise this, and through poor preparation strategy, misunderstand the exam as a whole.

This is the mistake that leaves students achieving 7.5s and 8.0s in past papers with 3.0s and 4.0s in the real exam - costing them a place at their dream university. My strategy is designed to expertly navigate this process, using a fast-track method to ensure you are aware of the traps and how to beat them.

What I offer

01 — Specialism
TMUA Preparation

Structured, targeted preparation for the TMUA — now adopted by Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, LSE and Warwick among others. My preparation programme is built to quickly develop your mathemtaical abilities and exam technique in order to maximise TMUA performance as quickly as possible. Sessions follow the step-by-step method I developed through my own preparation, supplemented by tailor-made resources I'll provide throughout the process.

02 — Specialism
Oxbridge Interview Coaching

Oxford and Cambridge interviews are designed to probe the way you think, not simply what you know. I prepare you to approach unseen problems clearly and confidently — to articulate your reasoning under pressure, to engage constructively with deliberate challenge, and to demonstrate the genuine mathematical curiosity these institutions want to see. Each coaching cycle includes full mock interviews allowing you receive detailed feedback on precisely where to focus your development ahead of the next session.

03 — Broader Support
A-Level Mathematics

Alongside my admissions specialisms, I offer support across A-Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics — whether that's building solid foundations ahead of university admissions preparation, or targeted help on specific topics at any stage of the course.

The five-stage plan

Every tutee follows the same five-stage structure, adapted to their individual starting point and timeline. The programme is designed so that each stage genuinely builds on the last — there are no shortcuts, but there are no wasted sessions either.

The goal at every step is not just performance on the test, but a genuine shift in how you approach mathematical problems. That's what separates candidates who score well from those who plateau.

We begin by working out exactly where you are. The free 30-minute introductory session is the right place to do that — I'll get a clear picture of your current level and give you an honest assessment of what the programme will look like for you specifically.

01
Consolidate the foundations
Ensure your A-Level knowledge is genuinely secure — not just familiar. TMUA does not test advanced content, but it demands that core material is understood with real precision. We identify and close any gaps before building on top of them.
02
Develop the problem-solving toolkit
TMUA rewards a specific kind of mathematical reasoning that goes well beyond standard A-Level technique. We build the skills of logical deduction, lateral thinking, and efficient problem-framing that the test is explicitly designed to assess.
03
Master the TMUA
Apply the method under timed, realistic conditions. We work through the full range of question types, refine your approach to time management, and address the patterns of error that most commonly cost candidates marks — including the ones that aren't obvious until it's too late.
04
Prepare for interview
Move from written test to live problem-solving. We focus on thinking out loud, responding constructively to challenge, and demonstrating the genuine mathematical curiosity that distinguishes strong interview candidates.
05
Secure the place
Arrive at every stage of the application process prepared, confident, and with a precise understanding of what you're being assessed on. The whole programme is built around this outcome from the very first session.
